Mongolian Beef I

Ready In: 45 MinutesYields: 6 servings
"A simple but spicy dish with beef, carrots and green onions. Serve over rice for a very filling meal."
INGREDIENTS:
1 teaspoon sesame seeds
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 tablespoon cornstarch
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 pound beef round steak, cut
into thin strips
3/4 cup water
2 tablespoons soy sauce
2 1/2 teaspoons cornstarch
1/2 teaspoon white sugar
1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
2 tablespoons vegetable oil,
divided
2 carrots, thinly sliced
1 bunch green onions, cut into
2 inch pieces
DIRECTIONS:
1.
In a dry skillet over medium heat, toast sesame seeds for 1 to2 minutes, or until the seeds begin to turn golden brown; set aside.
2.
In a medium bowl, mix together 1 tablespoon soy sauce, 1 tablespoon cornstarch, and minced garlic. Stir in beef strips. Let stand for at least 10 minutes.
3.
In a separate small bowl, mix together water, 2 tablespoons soy sauce, 2 1/2 teaspoons cornstarch, sugar, sesame seeds, and red pepper flakes; set aside.
4.
Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a wok or skillet over high heat. Cook and stir beef in hot oil for 1 minute; remove, and set aside. Heat remaining tablespoon of oil in the same pan. Saute carrots and white part of green onions for 2 minutes. Stir in green parts of the green onion, and saute for 1 minute. Stir in sesame seed mixture and beef. Cook and stir until sauce boils and thickens.

Re-Organizing My Life
Alhamdu lelah I've been through alot of stress lately .....but right now things are getting back to normal...& I feeel I need to RE-ORGANIZE...RE-FOCUS & get back on track insha Allah....
my initial plan for the next month insha Allah is....
Regading helping myself Spiritualy....I will
Start to do Salawat in proper time
pray salat Fajr daily in proper time
read 1 page of quraan every day
do thikr & doaas for 5 minutes after every salat
help my oldest DD pray regularly
Regarding my domestic skills...I will
Spend 15 minutes at the end each week planning meals of the next week
Cook 6 days a week
Try new dishes
Try my hand at new deserts
Decorate our new apartment
Regrding our Homeschooling I will
Limit TV time for only 2 hours a day
Spend 15 minutes daily before the girls wake up to organize a daily schedule
Read aloud to my girls daily..at least 2 books
Help my oldest in her reading skills
Spend 1 hour of organized academics with my youngest bent

Hooray for Bollywood!!!!
OK ...OK....so i'm a sucker for indian movies...I just luuuuuuv the steamy romance ...the simple sometimes idiotic blot lines.....life is complicated enough ...right....& ofcourse i just adore.....Salman Khan......he's been my dream guy since I was 15 -16 years old...
Sometimes it feels to me that by holding on to these images & movies I'm just holding on to some part of me that I refuse to leave behind inoccent somewhat naive girl that believed that everything was possible & that the sky is her limit......
Amongst my battle to continue living & not sink into a deep sea of depression.....i will be that girl for as long as I live.......

An estimated 27,000 “ghost prisoners” are currently being held in secret prisons around the world, including ships that have been re-fitted as prison hulks, according to recent reports.“When you look at Guantanamo Bay, 270 [prisoners], roughly . . . [are] in Guantanamo, but according to the most recent official figures, the United States is currently holding 27,000 secret prisoners around the world,” Clive Stafford Smith said to DemocracyNow! in a May 19 interview. “99 percent of these folk are not in Guantanamo Bay.”Smith is a lawyer for 30 of the Guantanamo prisoners, and author of Eight O’clock Ferry to the Windward Side: Seeking Justice in Guantanamo Bay. He spoke before Congress on May 20 regarding the prisoners, and works for the UK charity known as Reprieve.Several known prisons exist in Morocco, Afghanistan, Djibouti, and Iraq. Popular thought was that the prisons in Iraq were for Iraqi war prisoners, but Smith asserted that prisoners are being brought in from other nations so that “annoying people like you—I mean the media—and also annoying people like me—lawyers— away from the prisoners so they can’t get any sort of legal rights,” Smith said.The Bush administration said they have not tortured suspected terrorists, but rather used “alternative” interrogation methods that are “tough but legal,” a 2006 CNN report said. Smith described one such alternative method: “All they have on him is evidence that they extracted from him after taking him to Morocco and torture[ing] him with a razor blade to his genitals.”Smith said that his organization identified 32 prison ships, though the U.S. and Britain deny that ships converted into prisons are used in the Indian Ocean to hold people.“We’ve got pictures of them in Lisbon Harbor,” Smith said, “And this is a huge concern, because the world focus is on Guantanamo Bay, which actually is a diversionary tactic in the whole war on terror or whatever you would like to call it.”Bagram prison in Afghanistan, a prison that made the news in 2002 when two detainees were killed from wounds inflicted during torture, holds an estimated 680 prisoners.May 17 the U.S. announced plans to build a 40-acre prison extension to the Bagram facility that will hold up to 1,100 prisoners. The bill for the new prison is estimated at $60 million.
